Wordless Wednesday: Magic Kingdom!

If I could be at Disney World today. . .

If I could be at Disney World today, I would visit the Animal Kingdom and eat at the Yak and the Yeti.  I could indulge in delicious egg rolls as well as a slice of mango pie.  The monk's blend hot tea is also quite good.  Then, I would walk around the Pangani Forest Trail and the Maharaja Jungle Trek and just take in the sights.  I could listen to the music in Asia, and I could ride Everest after my food had a chance to digest.  Finally, I could take a spin on the safari and see the beautiful animals and the best view of the savannah.  This would be such a relaxing day!  It would be much more relaxing than the day I had today! Where would you go if you could be in a Disney Park today?

I wish I could be here right now!

Cinderella castle may be the most photographed location in the US, but I just cannot stop taking pictures of it.  I know that I have hundreds of pictures of the same landmark, but it just never gets old.  I love the castle during the day, especially in the early morning after rope drop when it is especially shiny.  I also love it at night, especially from this angle.  Who am I kidding?  I love the castle at any time of day and any angle!  If only I could teleport there now instead of going to sleep in order to prepare myself for work tomorrow.  Oh well, I can keep dreaming and keep moving forward!  Walt did say that "all of your dreams can come true if you have the courage to pursue them."  I hope he was right!

Disney World Foot Gear

When we go on a trip to the World, it is very important for us to choose shoes that will not cause injuries to our feet.  After much trial and error, I have finally found a pair of shoes that work for me.  Before I tell you which shoes I now use, I will give you a tour of all of my failed shoe attempts.

First, I started with tennis shoes, but these were a failure. They failed because they hurt my feet, and they did not stand up to the frequent rain showers that occur in Florida.  After spending hours in the laundromat at the hotel trying to dry my tennis shoes, I decided that tennis shoes are not for me.  Then, we tried Crocs.  Now, I love Crocs; they are not the most fashion forward choice, but they are comfortable. They stand up to the rain, and they are comfortable.  I cannot wear my Crocs without socks because they cause blisters on my feet.  Even though Crocs are comfortable, they wear out fairly quickly, and they lose their traction.  I actually fell down after slipping in Frontierland on the wet pavement.  After the Crocs failed me, it was time to find a new shoe.  The next pair that I have been using is a pair of Keens.  I really like these shoes because they are comfortable, and they also stand up to the rain showers.  In addition to the Keens, I also wear Vibram 5 finger shoes.  They look a little odd, but they are very comfortable for me.  I have had many conversations with people in Disney World about these shoes because they look so different.  Even though these are odd looking, they are really worth the money that I paid for them.  In addition to these shoes, my husband also wears a pair of Teva sandals that he finds very comfortable, and he also alternates between these as well as a pair of Crocs sandals.

With all of these shoes in mind, it is important to choose shoes that are comfortable for your Disney trip.  Do not worry about style when you are in Disney World; you need to be ready to walk.  You are going to be walking miles and miles each day, so find some shoes that will suit your needs and get ready to start your tour around the World!
